So I've been away for a bit.  I eluded to changes going on and that's exactly correct...you see I've gone from the land of the employed to the land of seeking employment and that, in itself is a full time job.  The wonderful part of all of this is that I get to spend time at home with Bella Ragazza and Special Lady, which I'm definitely taking advantage of.  That being said, I'm still trying to find my routine, which includes carving out a little time to post.  I haven't quite found that sweet spot or groove, if you will, so that posting becomes automatic again, but I'll get there.  Or at least I'll try.

On that note, I'm going to throw it way back for the DVD of the week and get something silly out here for you all...and maybe, just maybe, I'll take up a job doing something like this...

You are never going to believe this.  Are you ready?  Maybe you should sit down first.  You are already sitting down?  Good.  I mean, I can't even believe it!  Fine, I'll get to it already...it's going to break 60 degrees on Sunday!!!!!!!  Yes, it's going back in the 30s next week, but I'll take what I can get at this point!  And now that I'm seeing more and more spring beers come out, I know the warm up is inevitable.  I might even break out the grill on Sunday.

Welcome to the still frozen tundra of the Upper Midwest.  I'm your host for today's episode of "this is ridiculous, it's 8 degrees and it's technically springtime".  My guests today will be all who are suffering from this extended winter.  Just kidding, although it really is cold today.  I do have the cure, although it was in the form of chili that I totally forgot to take pictures of...probably because I was so enamoured with these cornbread muffins from Rachel at Baked by Rachel.

So, sorry for the untimely absence from posting.  There have been a few changes in the frozen tundra that we call home, besides the fact that it's becoming more and more unfrozen.  Change can be good, at least that's what I keep telling myself.  It's when that change is out of your control somewhat that it becomes slightly more daunting...the fear of the unknown, especially when you have a lot of responsibility.  Anyway, I know I'm being vague, but more will come to light as we move on here.

Welcome to the latter half of the week and St. Patrick's Day is quickly approaching.  You know, where everyone is Irish for a day while drinking green beer.

I don't even know what to do with myself now that we hit 50 degrees yesterday.  Granted I didn't get to really experience it since I was at work.  And, granted that we are dipping down into the single digits tonight, but still.  50!!  Lots of snow melting going on right about now, which is fantastic!  It totally gets me into the Spring spirit!  But, I shouldn't get ahead of myself, I know that last year we were getting snow in May so I'll try not to jinx it.

Everything is awesome!  Yes, it's the primary song from the Lego Movie and, yes, it will undoubtedly get stuck in your head.  But, I will say that everything was awesome regarding the weather yesterday.  Mid-40's and lots of melting going on out there!  We may even touch 50 today!!!  Then snow tonight.  Ugh.

So I'm trying to figure out what goes through a dog's head.  You see we are taking care of a little 3 year old female dog (probably 15 pounds) for a couple of days for somebody and I understand there is an adjustment for the dog to make.  It's an unfamiliar place and there's another dog that rules the house, so I understand that accidents will happen, even if this dog is potty trained to go outside.  So I'll give the new dog the benefit of the doubt once for dropping some poop in the house.

Yeah, I'm drooling just writing the title too!  I know I've said it before, and if you've read this blog then you already know, I'm not a baker.  Buuuuuuuuuuuuut...I sure do try sometimes.

So this is the last 2014 Oscar nominted film that I'm going to see before the awards and while it was the usual valiant effort to see a lot of them, I can't help but think that we could have done more.  Of course that would entail going to the theater a few times over, which isn't exactly feasable with my schedule and it's not like I can take Bella Ragazza to 12 Years a Slave or anything.  Be that as it may, a good effort was given nevertheless.
